Technology - Term 4
This term we are studying Technology and using the process to create an indoor game. We are starting off by researching cool games by doing a variety of activities.
This week - Week 3 - the students have been asked to bring games from home that they enjoy playing but which might not be familiar to all students.
Use the padlet below to write down games that you love. If you can explain a little about the game.

College Sport/P.E
In the last five weeks of this term, we have been lucky to have been taught sport by some of the Year 12 students from Ashburton College. This is part of their study, but also gives our teachers an opportunity to observe us during P.E sessions.
Some of the things we were working on during this unit were following instructions and copying movements we were taught; how to co-operate with our team members and how to play fairly and inclusively.
Here are some photos of our lessons.

Our Music Learning
This term, every Tuesday as a whole team, we came together to learn about music. We did singing, playing and learning musical notation. At the end of the learning, we all joined together to show the Junior classes an example of what we had learnt. Here is a link to the video of The Three Little Birds song.
Making Connections
Takahe 2 Topic
We are looking at candles. We want to know what makes wax a good substance to make candles out of. We have done observations of candles before and after lighting; we have done some research into what wax is; we have tried to find out how candles light by looking at flames and finding out what flames need to burn. Now we need to answer some questions about exactly what makes wax a good substance.

In Week 7 we are going to the Mr Russell Langdon's Westerfield Wetlands property as part of our study into animals and how they live. Mr Langdon has created a habitat for lots of animals, especially those that are endangered.
One of the endangered animals living at the Wetlands is the Canterbury Mudfish. Read more about the mudfish through these websites and videos.
