What stage basic facts do you want to pass?
Use this website to practise and test yourself at each stage.
Making 1
We can use numbers that add together to make 10, and 100 to find pairs of decimals that add to make 1. Play these games to help you practise doing this.
Making 1000
When you are trying to find numbers that add together to make 1000, you need to look at the ones first to make a 10. After that every other place needs to add to 9. eg. 465 + ? = 1000: 5 + 5 = 10 so the ones digit must be 5. The 10s digit is 6 in 465 so you need 3 more 10s to make 9, so the 10s digit needed is 3; there is a 4 in the 100s column so you need 5 100s to make 9 100s. So the answer is 465 + 535 = 1000.
